The atmosphere was very soothing especially in the bar.
For starters I had pork ribs which were excellent.
Main course was tuna and once again this was excellent
The bar was very well stocked. I had my favorite Chimay beer and the cocktails were very interesting.
No obvious downsides to this place. Well worth a visit.

Local 1110 Savannah
by supershag on Jan.29, 2012, under Beer, Bellini, Champagne, Happening, Roof Deck/Patio, Steak Frites, Swanky, Wine
What a great restaurant . Not at all what I expected to find in Savannah. Located at the tip of Forsyth Park it is located in a charming old building.
The interior is very cool in a very contemporary way and would not look out of place in New York.
I really liked the lighting which created a very soothing atmosphere
This is not a cheap restaurant with prices on a par with Boston . The food is all locally produced(well most if it is) and the service was excellent.
They carried my favorite beer which made the visit worthwhile by itself.
I started with quail stuffed with chorizo which was excellent.
My main course was steak frites.once again this was great.
After dinner I had a couple of drinks on the roof-deck which was very cool.
The trees surrounding the roof were very interesting. Oaks covered with Spanish moss.
Just visited again in Jan 2013.
Some new dishes which did not disappoint.
Deffo 2 thumbs up from me.
Strawberry salad was very good.
Coq au Vin was not that tasteful at the beginning . As the meal cooled it became more flavorful . Quite light not as rich as the usual coq au vin offering.
Tile fish with curry was an interesting combo but tasted very nice.

The IVY London
by supershag on Dec.30, 2011, under Beer, Fish and Chips, Happening, Irish Coffee, LONDON, Wine
In London this restaurant is an institution.Frequented by the artsy fartsy set it is a place to see and be seen.
Located just off the Covent Garden area I recommend that you make a reservation well in advance in order to get in.
I would descibe the place as a gastro pub which seems to be the rage in London at the moment.I had fish and chips and mushy peas.
They were ok but the tomato sauce(ketchup) was excellent.
Overall I really do not know what the big deal is about this place but at least I can say I have been.
Fervor Buenos Aires
by supershag on Dec.29, 2011, under Beer, Buenos Aires, Champagne, City, Foods, Free Wi-Fi, Restaurants, Scallops, Steak, Swanky, Wine
Fervor is located in the heart of Recoleta behind the Alvear Palace. It is probably the most traditional restaurant that I have visited in Buenos Aires.Set out like a typical french bistro it is quite formal while not being stiff.
Christmas Eve is the big deal in Argentina .Most restaurants shut down and the ones that remain open lay on a fixed Christmas menu.
This is an expensive night to go out, similer to New Years Eve in the States. The menu here was around 130 US dollars per person. This included 5 courses and an open bar.I discovered a new sparkling wine which was very good.
The food was plain but plentiful and very tasty.I especially liked the country style pate.
Probably not a place that I would go to on a normal night but can thoroughly recommend Christmas Eve.
Aldos Buenos Aires
by supershag on Dec.29, 2011, under Beer, Buenos Aires, Champagne, Free Wi-Fi, Happening, Music, Steak, Wine, Wine/Liquor Store
The Moreno Hotel in San Telmo houses this new restaurant and vinoteca. Not as visually stunning as some of the restaurants in Buenos Aires more of Baltezaar meets Vinny Ts.
The bar area is very nice , not pretensious at all.
The food is simple, well priced and very good.
The beef tenderloin wrapped in bacon with French fries was delicious .
The local market menu is small but covers all the basics like this sea bass.
< As this doubles up as a wine store buying by the bottle is actually quite cheap and of course the range is very comprehensive. Buying by the glass is very limited and not cost effective so I tried a beer. My first from Chile.
Sound system here was excellent. Soundtrack was good and very jazzy.
Sam’s – Boston
by supershag on Dec.09, 2011, under Beer, Boston, Champagne, Chicken Club, Happening, Parking/Valet, Roof Deck/Patio, Salad, Scallops, Steak, Tartar, Wine
After swearing never to come back to this seaport area eatery I was pleasantly surprised on my last visit that it really had changed. Located above the famed Louis of Boston it has the feel of a very hip diner. Overlooking the harbor and downtown the views can be really spectacular. Service has really improved and the food is great. They worked to provide adjusted menu items for gluten and dairy intolerance. I had the the steak tartar which was excellent and the (steak frites) hanger steak which I would prefer with fries rather than the farro they came with. We also had the radicchio salad and seared scallops which were prepared without dairy/gluten yet both were delectable. Wine selection is good but be prepared to buy bottles as by the glass is limited. I enjoyed a japanese beer ‘Asahi’. Diners get 2 free hours parking which is brill and the bar area has a great TV. When the weather permits the outside deck is really pleasant. Overall well worth a visit.

Latest offering from Jody Adams of Rialto fame. Cool architecture similar to that of Albert Dock in Liverpool . Great view of Occupy Boston tented village.Allagash White beer very good. Tasted the Gotham Project Cabernet, a wonderful peppery wine on tap from the Finger Lakes in NY. Skirt steak and fries excellent for 21 bucks. Will return
Book your reservation using the Trade website or UrbanSpoon.
Others in the party tasted the mushroom soup and brussel sprouts, both were gluten and dairy free. Vegetarians be aware the mushroom soup uses a chicken stock. The staff at Trade were proactive in providing a menu with identifiers of GF for Gluten Free and DF for Dairy Free.

Enjoy some fine dining at Fleming’s Steak House in Boston, great steak and seafood dishes. They have an extensive gluten free menu and are amenable to accommodate any allergies. The wine selection is great, we tasted: ‘Three Saints’, ’14 Hands’ and ‘Catena’ all were great! They also had a few favorites of mine ‘Two Hands, McLaren Vale’, ‘Orin Swift, The Prisoner’, Stags’ Leap Petite Syrah’ and ‘Ravenswood, Zinfandel’ can’t wait to come back! Check out the Fleming’s website for monthly deals, menu and to make a reservation.
