Weinstein and Gavinos is located on Crecent Street right Un the heart of the upscale shopping section of Montreal .

I would describe it as an up market bar and is one of my favorite lunch spots .

The bar is really well stocked and the interior could be described as rustic cool.

The food is not of the scale but I very good.

The Osso Bucco is great

They were also very accommodating with the gluton free meal that was requested. The custom cooked salmon was very good.

So if you are shopping and feel the need for lunch or an early afternoon meal this is a great place to visit.

Chila is located in Puerto Madero in Buenos Aires. This is the old dock area that has been gentrified and now houses numerous restaurants and boutique hotels.

The restaurant has a modern feel and the ambience is very pleasant .

We were lucky enough to be seated by the window looking onto the dock which is the prime seating area.

The food was good but I felt overpriced. I had a risotto with scallops and shrimp. Very nice but not the generous portion I have been getting used to I’m Argentina.

The staff were very helpful but unfortunately we could not get the free Wi-Fi to work. While Chila was not my cup of tea it would be worth a visit for the service and view alone.

Absolutely stunning building.

This was an old winery that has been converted into a bar and restaurant . Inside the curved ceilings really remind me of the Albert Dock in Liverpool .

So the building is stunning and the food
is of a similar quality. The sushi while expensive was excellent.

The salmon was fantastic.

The duck was sublime.

Olsen is a sister restaurant to Casa Cruz and Tegui. From it’s name you can guess it has a Swedish feel. Apart from being difficult to get to I really did not find anything Swedish about the place.
This was my second visit and I hoped I would enjoy it more than the first. Things did not get off to a good start. We only accept Visa was the first thing I was told after making the reservation. I did explain that people who use Amex traditionally spend more dosh but this fell on deaf ears.
The restaurant is located in a more remote part of Palermo Soho but when you get there the garden entrance is stunning.

Palermo was an area of Buenos Aires that housed many car shops. Once again this restaurant seems to have used this type of venue to produce a stunning room. It is a pity they did not invest in some stunning furniture as the stuff they have looked as if it came from a car boot sale of old diners stuff. The acoustics are pretty bad as well but to fix that would take a real hefty investment.

The food was good but nothing to write home about and quite expensive for Buenos Aires

I personally will not be rushing back but if you want to yearn for that little bit of Sweden by sitting in a really cool outside patio while drinking Absolut vodka then this may be the place for you

Cluny has become my Boston Navy Yard Bistro of Buenos Aires. The actual space is fantastic.Seems as if it was an old garage, part inside part outside.Staff are very attentive and the food is excellent. Salmon tartare, steak and grilled octopus cannot be beaten. Great wine list. You get the picture I really like this place. Go check it out and if you are really lucky you may even get to talk to the chef with the crazy Lancashire accent.

Do not be put off by the very naughty name (in British English).This is another one of “the” places to hang out.Located in the bohemian area of Buenos Aires,Palermo Soho , Mott is a big open space that just yells COOL.The bar is very well stocked and the caipirinhas will knock your head off.Smoked salmon sandwich is excellent and most of the food is locally sourced.Definitely worth a visit. As we were staying at the Hotel Madero seemed only right to check out the in house restaurant of celebrity chef Stephen Jung.We had the salmon and tuna and when they heard part of our group had a gluten allergy the promptly accommodated with a sushi menu. It was ok but nothing to write home about. The one thing that is really good though is the cocktail ‘Un Hombre’. The drink is sweet and almost like a dessert by itself.

Le dOMe at the Four Seasons is one of the most sophisticated bars in Buenos Aires. A place where local power brokers would meet but thank god just as comfortable with me in my shorts (they are very nice shorts though).Grab a seat at the bar lean back and look up at the dome after which the restaurant is named. If you do not feel sick from being light headed tuck into the salmon burger. Absolutely brill. The wine list is first rate and of course the service is great. Make a reservation at Le dOMe

Free wi-fi and a great soundtrack (not what I expected at all) made this the ultimate lunch experience.

Dec 2011 update.
Irish coffee off the scale. Jameson 12 year old whisky, fresh whipped cream ,sugar, coffee and a small hint of cinnamon . This was a small meal by itself.On a par with the Rey Juan Carlos in Barcelona . Pleasantly surprised by the gluten free salmon,very tasty. Free wi-fi. Ask at bar for code.

A trip to Buenos Aires isn’t complete
without a visit to the Alvear Palace.
