Brasserie Jo is located in the Colonnade Hotel on the edge of Back Bay in Boston.
Nothing really interesting about the decor or atmosphere. It is a comfortable place to eat though.
The wine list is excellent and they do serve Chimay my favorite beer.
Scallops were gluton free and very tasty.
Steak frites was very good. No complaints at all.
I do not indulge in dessert but I am assured that it was yummy. To make a reservation

Verses is in the Hotel Nelligan located in Old Montreal behind Notre Dame cathedral .
The hotel is very cool as it seems to have been 2 buildings that have been joined together.
I had a Beefoe latte which was excellent and there was a very good wine list.
I had the beef tartar which Included some great fries.
Our waiter was excellent. Very attentive and informative. Overall a very comfortable place to spend an afternoon.
Cavalli Montreal
by supershag on Feb.14, 2012, under Beer, Ceviche, Chicken, Cocktails, Happening, Montreal, QC - Canada, Music, Salmon, Scallops, Swanky, Tartar, Tuna, Wine
Cavalli is located on Peel Street in the heart of downtown Montreal . This restaurant actually turns into a club at 11.pm on a Saturday night.
The place is very swanky and the ambience and music are obviously very club like.
We brought a large group so we sampled a lot of food.
Sea bass main course was fantastic.
Filet mignon was ordered rare nut arrived almost medium.
Swordfish and clams were excellent.
Le Globe Montreal
by supershag on Feb.09, 2012, under Beer, Champagne, Free Wi-Fi, Happening, Montreal, QC - Canada, Music, Swanky, Tartar, Wine
Le Globe, the first restaurant I can actually remember visiting in Montreal in the mid 90s.(my god that was in the last century)
If you want a really cool ambience this is the place to go.
The beautiful people of Montreal cam be seen here. (though they did let Pee Wee in)
Back in my formative years in Liverpool Sapporo was the full hit. (that means good ). So of course they serve it here, not in the non descript bottles but these great designer cans.
Jamiroquai on the play list what more can you ask for.
Ah food that is the reason we are here. Well I have to report that it was excellent . The venison and beef tartar starters were excellent. The steak main course was fantastic. The gluten and diary free salmon was described as the best ever. Just pay this place a visit. It is brill.
Tegui Buenos Aires
by supershag on Dec.28, 2011, under Buenos Aires, Champagne, Free Wi-Fi, Happening, Restaurants, Roof Deck/Patio, Steak, Swanky, Tartar, Wine
Any restaurant where you have to ring the door bell to get in must have something going for it.
Very like its sister restauant,Casa Cruz,Tegui is very glam inside.
The food is excellent. My veal tartar was great. One of the best I have ever eaten.
I almost forgot. The bread was the best I had ever eaten.(that is if you like nutty bread)
Which gets me to the main course.I had the steak which was very good. One thing that is interesting here is that the chef usually does steak medium. This was rare and wonderful.Always state how you want your food cooked as I noticed that the waiter will not always ask.
The wine list was very comprehensive and if you can grab a drink in the outside garden before you leave.Definately gets 2 thumbs up from me.
Casa Cruz Buenos Aires
by supershag on Dec.18, 2011, under Buenos Aires, Champagne, Free Wi-Fi, Happening, Music, Octopus, Steak, Swanky, Tartar, Wine
Casa Cruz is a very upscale restaurant on the outer fringes of the main shopping and dining area of Palermo Soho
Inside the feeling is expensive but very cool . You enter into a small bar area where you are seated and expected to have a drink. It seems that the restaurant want you to enjoy the plush surroundings as we had to wait 20 minutes for our table even though the place was not that busy . The sound-track was great so this made the wait well worthwhile .
Once again the restaurant features a large open space with a huge wall of wine at the far end. The place feels as if you should dress up but the staff uniform is a vest, shirt, tie, jeans and sneakers. Very casual chic.
The food was simple, good and expensive by Buenos Aires standards. The veal tartar was incredible. It was as good as anything I have ever eaten
So definitely somewhere to visit if you want to impress the “mrs”.

Cluny has become my Boston Navy Yard Bistro of Buenos Aires. The actual space is fantastic.Seems as if it was an old garage, part inside part outside.Staff are very attentive and the food is excellent. Salmon tartare, steak and grilled octopus cannot be beaten. Great wine list. You get the picture I really like this place. Go check it out and if you are really lucky you may even get to talk to the chef with the crazy Lancashire accent.

Sam’s – Boston
by supershag on Dec.09, 2011, under Beer, Boston, Champagne, Chicken Club, Happening, Parking/Valet, Roof Deck/Patio, Salad, Scallops, Steak, Tartar, Wine
After swearing never to come back to this seaport area eatery I was pleasantly surprised on my last visit that it really had changed. Located above the famed Louis of Boston it has the feel of a very hip diner. Overlooking the harbor and downtown the views can be really spectacular. Service has really improved and the food is great. They worked to provide adjusted menu items for gluten and dairy intolerance. I had the the steak tartar which was excellent and the (steak frites) hanger steak which I would prefer with fries rather than the farro they came with. We also had the radicchio salad and seared scallops which were prepared without dairy/gluten yet both were delectable. Wine selection is good but be prepared to buy bottles as by the glass is limited. I enjoyed a japanese beer ‘Asahi’. Diners get 2 free hours parking which is brill and the bar area has a great TV. When the weather permits the outside deck is really pleasant. Overall well worth a visit.
