Gran Bar Danzon Buenos Aires

by on Dec.14, 2011, under Buenos Aires, Champagne, Cocktails, Free Wi-Fi, Happening, Mojito, Osso Bucco, Steak, Sushi, Wine

One of the great bars of the world which actually serves great food. Never been disappointed. I had the Mojito V. S. made witch Congac and topped with champagne, it is a must try if you stop in. The sushi was really good we had the California and Vegetarian rolls. Osso Bucco was outstanding along with the Salmon/Sole Ceviche. To follow suit with the overal Urban downtempo the wine list was presented on an iPad much to my entertainment. Make sure to make a reservation for Gran Bar Danzon prior to arriving. If you take a taxi to this hotspot be sure to tell them the entrance is 1161 Libertad between Santa Fe and Arenales or you may circle the block a few times as their is no sign. The vibe reminds me of Sonsie in Boston, always busy and great for people watching. Bar Danzon offers free wi-fi which is very handy when traveling abroad. By far a Buenos Aires must do.

Sam’s – Boston

by on Dec.09, 2011, under Beer, Boston, Champagne, Chicken Club, Happening, Parking/Valet, Roof Deck/Patio, Salad, Scallops, Steak, Tartar, Wine

After swearing never to come back to this seaport area eatery I was pleasantly surprised on my last visit that it really had changed. Located above the famed Louis of Boston it has the feel of a very hip diner. Overlooking the harbor and downtown the views can be really spectacular. Service has really improved and the food is great. They worked to provide adjusted menu items for gluten and dairy intolerance. I had the the steak tartar which was excellent and the (steak frites) hanger steak which I would prefer with fries rather than the farro they came with. We also had the radicchio salad and seared scallops which were prepared without dairy/gluten yet both were delectable. Wine selection is good but be prepared to buy bottles as by the glass is limited. I enjoyed a japanese beer ‘Asahi’. Diners get 2 free hours parking which is brill and the bar area has a great TV. When the weather permits the outside deck is really pleasant. Overall well worth a visit.

Fleming’s Boston

by on Nov.30, 2011, under Beer, Boston, Gluten Free, Steak, Swanky, Wine

Enjoy some fine dining at Fleming’s Steak House in Boston, great steak and seafood dishes. They have an extensive gluten free menu and are amenable to accommodate any allergies. The wine selection is great, we tasted: ‘Three Saints’, ’14 Hands’ and ‘Catena’ all were great! They also had a few favorites of mine ‘Two Hands, McLaren Vale’, ‘Orin Swift, The Prisoner’, Stags’ Leap Petite Syrah’ and ‘Ravenswood, Zinfandel’ can’t wait to come back! Check out the Fleming’s website for monthly deals, menu and to make a reservation.

Sorellina Boston

by on Apr.30, 2007, under Bellini, Boston, Cocktails, Restaurants, Steak, Swanky

Modern Italian restaurant in Copley Square, great atmosphere, liked the Bellini’s but found the food a bit to salty. We ordered the Crab Gratinata and Verdure for starters both were tasty for our main course we had the Ribeye and the Cod this is where the ‘salty’ was most present. The service was good however I left here feeling I did not need to go back anytime soon.

Checkout the Sorellina website for the most up to date menu items.
