Pain Et Vin – Buenos Aires

by on Aug.09, 2015, under Argentina, Buenos Aires, Cafe, Champagne, Coffee, Coffee Shop, Restaurants, Wine, Wine/Liquor Store

Bakery and wine shop all in one! We found this spot after shopping at a custom menswear shop on Gorriti. The owner was a fantastic help in selecting some sparkling wines to taste and take home! We also indulged in a tasty latte and multi-grain sourdough which we brought home but didn’t last 24 hours it was so good. We will certainly be back when in Buenos Aires again!

Delta Sky Club Atlanta

by on Oct.14, 2012, under Airline Club Room, Atlanta, Beer, Cocktails, Coffee, Free Wi-Fi, Pastries, Wine

20121014-073640.jpg
Good size club room located at A17.

20121014-073743.jpg
Well stocked bar with certain complimentary drinks. This does not include Bushmills or Ciroc which only become available after 12pm ( me and puff diddley or whatever he is now called are not very happy with this arrangement )

20121014-074100.jpg
Food station is very basic.

20121014-074206.jpg
Does include plenty of charging stations.
Overall no problems but no frills either.

Mike’s Pastry Boston, MA

by on Sep.13, 2012, under Boston, Cafe, Coffee, Coffee Shop, Dessert, Novelty, Pastries, Restaurants

A must go for the Boston tourist, with friends in town from Liverpool, we ended up stopping by Mike’s Pastry in the North End of Boston for as they put it ‘an unforgettable cannoli’

20121007-123909.jpg

The line at Mike’s on a Saturday or Sunday will be out the door and to the end of the block, we went on a Thursday around 11AM, walked right in and grabbed a table.

20121007-123950.jpg

OREO Cannoli…need I say more? Although it’s not my type of treat, they were 100% satisfied with this creation!

20121007-124024.jpg

A latte to top it all off, which was just what I was needing!

by on Aug.30, 2012, under Beer, Bellini, Boston, Champagne, Chicken, Cocktails, Coffee, Free Wi-Fi, Gluten Free, Happening, Parking/Valet, Roof Deck/Patio, Salmon, Steak, Tartar, Wine

Sonsie is a Boston institution. Located at the funky end of Newbury Street this hip watering hole was very much the epicenter of Supershag,s formative years.

20120829-175421.jpg
This was deffo the place to be scene

20120829-175546.jpg
The restaurant became the place for the beautiful people of Boston to hang out but it also had really good food.

20120829-175800.jpg
As I had not been there for about 5 years I was very interested to see if anything had changed.

20120829-180339.jpg

20120829-180441.jpg
So the menu has changed a bit but the peppercorn steak is still there.this was their classic dish and is really good.

20120829-181145.jpg
I had the tuna sashimi which really is tuna tartar. It was fantastic.

20120829-181415.jpg
The chicken was also very good.
Sonsie has free Wi-fi and it is great fun to sit in the front of the reatauant and watch Newbury Street go about it’s business.

Americano at Hotel Americano New York

by on Jul.05, 2012, under Bellini, Champagne, Cocktails, Coffee, Free Wi-Fi, Irish Coffee, New York, Parking/Valet, Roof Deck/Patio, Salad, Steak Frites, Tartar

20120706-122504.jpg
Americano is located in the Hotel Americano which is a new boutique hotel in the west village .

20120706-122707.jpg
Nothing very out of the ordinary in the layout of the place. Usual chrome ,glass minimalist look. It does however have a very pleasant small outside patio.

20120706-123117.jpg

20120706-123201.jpg
The food was excellent and well priced for new York.

20120706-123324.jpg
Beef tartar was as good as I have tasted.

20120706-123541.jpg
Chicken Paillard was interesting while the steak frites was good but nothing special.

20120706-124123.jpg

20120706-124213.jpg
The overall experience was very pleasant and the service was very good. Also it is located very close to the new York high line which is well worth having a walk along.

Olives

by on Jun.07, 2012, under Beer, Boston, Champagne, Chicken, Cocktails, Coffee, Foods, Music, Parking/Valet, Salmon, Tartar, Tuna, Wine

The flag ship of the Todd English empire has reopened in Charlestown . Not too different from the original but I wonder if anyone else has noticed how the new layout has increased the noise levels. Time for some sound proofing me thinks.

So even though the place is loud the food was great. Very rich a la Todd English but really good . In fact I forgot to photograph the food so it must have good. Please make do with the menu.

This place is not cheap but Definately worth a visit.
