Juvia
by supershag on May.09, 2012, under Beer, Champagne, Cocktails, Free Wi-Fi, Happening, Miami, Music, Roof Deck/Patio, Salmon, Swanky, Tuna, Veal, Wine
Juvia is actually located in the funkiest car-park I have ever seen. It is located at the end of Lincoln Road that is furthest away from the beach. It features
Inside and outside dining.
Hard to describe the atmosphere. It is cool and funky but really feels like an upmarket beach bar/restaurant. Now do not take this the wrong way the place is fantastic and you could wear your tux or shorts( actually don’t know if there is a dress code) and be totally comfortable here.
So what about the food. It was fantastic. Everything we had was excellent and the prices while not cheap were not outrageous.
Short ribs.
Once again make this one of your first stops on your next Miami visit.
I suggest before you leave grab a mojito and savor the night time beach view.
Fig and Olive

Fig and Olive in Melrose Place is the latest offshoot of the famous NewYork
eaterie. It is well worth checking out the neighborhood as Melrose Place is really happening at the moment.
Decor is very cool and the outside tasting bar looks like a fun place to hang out.
Tuna carpaccio was so good nearly forgot to take a photo.
Tuna and scallop salad was also great.
Coffee great as well.

Suka is the in house restaurant at the Sanderson Hotel in London.
The set-up is ultra cool with part of the restaurant situated in this covered zen garden.
The other part is at the end if the very famous Long Bar.
The food was fantastic . No idea what is was but fantastic all the same
Check out the restrooms. These are the gents.
Don’t normally do dessert but the sorbet was quite exquisite .
Blue Bottle Coffee San Francisco
by supershag on Mar.23, 2012, under Coffee Shop, Happening, Roof Deck/Patio, San Francisco
Blue Bottle Coffee is located in Mint Square in San Francisco. The coffee is fantastic so much so that there normally a line around the block at peak times. Not much else to say except just try it.
The Pot Belly Tullylish
by supershag on Mar.22, 2012, under Champagne, Free Wi-Fi, Gluten Free, Irish Coffee, Parking/Valet, Roof Deck/Patio, Salmon, Steak, Wine
The Pot Belly is located between Banbridge and Gilford in Northern Ireland
A pot belly is not a fat person from Charlestown but a particular type of stove.one is located in the restaurant and it keeps the place very toasty.
The food was simple but really good.
This steak with the bushmills sauce was great and the cows were happy so that is great.
There was a gluten free menu and the salmon was very good.

Local 1110 Savannah
by supershag on Jan.29, 2012, under Beer, Bellini, Champagne, Happening, Roof Deck/Patio, Steak Frites, Swanky, Wine
What a great restaurant . Not at all what I expected to find in Savannah. Located at the tip of Forsyth Park it is located in a charming old building.
The interior is very cool in a very contemporary way and would not look out of place in New York.
I really liked the lighting which created a very soothing atmosphere
This is not a cheap restaurant with prices on a par with Boston . The food is all locally produced(well most if it is) and the service was excellent.
They carried my favorite beer which made the visit worthwhile by itself.
I started with quail stuffed with chorizo which was excellent.
My main course was steak frites.once again this was great.
After dinner I had a couple of drinks on the roof-deck which was very cool.
The trees surrounding the roof were very interesting. Oaks covered with Spanish moss.
Just visited again in Jan 2013.
Some new dishes which did not disappoint.
Deffo 2 thumbs up from me.
Strawberry salad was very good.
Coq au Vin was not that tasteful at the beginning . As the meal cooled it became more flavorful . Quite light not as rich as the usual coq au vin offering.
Tile fish with curry was an interesting combo but tasted very nice.

Tegui Buenos Aires
by supershag on Dec.28, 2011, under Buenos Aires, Champagne, Free Wi-Fi, Happening, Restaurants, Roof Deck/Patio, Steak, Swanky, Tartar, Wine
Any restaurant where you have to ring the door bell to get in must have something going for it.
Very like its sister restauant,Casa Cruz,Tegui is very glam inside.
The food is excellent. My veal tartar was great. One of the best I have ever eaten.
I almost forgot. The bread was the best I had ever eaten.(that is if you like nutty bread)
Which gets me to the main course.I had the steak which was very good. One thing that is interesting here is that the chef usually does steak medium. This was rare and wonderful.Always state how you want your food cooked as I noticed that the waiter will not always ask.
The wine list was very comprehensive and if you can grab a drink in the outside garden before you leave.Definately gets 2 thumbs up from me.
Olsen Buenos Aires
by supershag on Dec.24, 2011, under Buenos Aires, Champagne, Free Wi-Fi, Happening, Roof Deck/Patio, Salmon, Steak, Wine
Olsen is a sister restaurant to Casa Cruz and Tegui. From it’s name you can guess it has a Swedish feel. Apart from being difficult to get to I really did not find anything Swedish about the place.
This was my second visit and I hoped I would enjoy it more than the first. Things did not get off to a good start. We only accept Visa was the first thing I was told after making the reservation. I did explain that people who use Amex traditionally spend more dosh but this fell on deaf ears.
The restaurant is located in a more remote part of Palermo Soho but when you get there the garden entrance is stunning.
Palermo was an area of Buenos Aires that housed many car shops. Once again this restaurant seems to have used this type of venue to produce a stunning room. It is a pity they did not invest in some stunning furniture as the stuff they have looked as if it came from a car boot sale of old diners stuff. The acoustics are pretty bad as well but to fix that would take a real hefty investment.
The food was good but nothing to write home about and quite expensive for Buenos Aires
I personally will not be rushing back but if you want to yearn for that little bit of Sweden by sitting in a really cool outside patio while drinking Absolut vodka then this may be the place for you

Sucre Buenos Aires
by supershag on Dec.17, 2011, under Bellini, Buenos Aires, Free Wi-Fi, Happening, Octopus, Osso Bucco, Roof Deck/Patio, Steak, Swordfish, Wine
Sucre was the second restaurant I visited in Buenos Aires and it really seems to have maintained it’s popularity. The space is very large and open with minimalist decoration and soft lighting. It gets very noisy so if you want to listen to the great soundtrack get there early (before 10). The kitchen opens into the restaurant so if possible get a table overlooking this. The bar is very well stocked and is located underneath a suspended metal walkway that leads to the restrooms (this definitely brings out the inner cage dancer of some patrons).
The food is simple but excellent. The swordfish and octopus were as good as I have had anywhere.
The restaurant is a little of the beaten track and is quite pricey by Argentinian standards but once again well worth a visit.
