Nobu – Shore Club- Miami
by supershag on Dec.06, 2012, under Beer, Champagne, Miami, Parking/Valet, Salmon, Scallops, Steak, Sushi, Tartar, Tuna, Wine
Nobu is one of the most famous Japanese restaurants in the world. It has outposts all over the world including NewYork,London,Vegas and Miami .The Miami branch is located in the Shore Club on Collins Ave.While the hotel is very funky the restaurant is really simple with no real atmosphere . So you go there for the food.
As I said you come for the food and it is expensive.
We started with tuna sashimi which was excellent.
The most disappointing part of the meal was the sushi.
I enjoyed my meal overall but thought that everything was just a little too pricey.

Rigsbys – Columbus
by supershag on Nov.18, 2012, under Beer, Bellini, Champagne, Columbus, Free Wi-Fi, Irish Coffee, Parking/Valet, Pasta, Salad, Salmon, Tuna, Wine
Located in the Short North district this is prob my favorite restaurant in Columbus. A short 5 minute walk from the Hyatt it is the perfect place for dinner or lunch.
The restaurant is in an old warehouse type building with exposed brick walls and some great art.
The bar is small but very well stocked and the bar tenders are excellent.
One word of warning though. Even though there is free wi-fi reception is not good so do not expect to get much computor work done.
The food is great. Presentation always very nice and quality very consistant
Hubbard Grille – Columbus
by supershag on Nov.18, 2012, under Beer, Champagne, Cocktails, Free Wi-Fi, Parking/Valet, Steak, Tuna, Wine
The Hubbard Grill is located in the trendy Short North district of columbus. It is about a 10 minute walk from the Hyatt which is home to the Ohio Star Ball.
The building started life as a Chevvy dealership and some of the original fixtures have been left.
The bar area is quite noisy so if you want to talk try and grab a booth.
Food is well priced and portions are very generous.
The rib-eye was done in a Marsala sauce with fingerling potatoes and was really tasty.
Pepper crusted Ahi Tuna with jasmine rice was as good as I have ever had.
Drink selection was well priced and features some American gems such as the Sophia Coppola sparking complete with straw.
Beer selection was very good and Curtis our server very kindly gave me a small tasting of different columbus beers. I really like the elevator brand.
Service was great and atmosphere very good. Will definately be back here.

Tigin’s Irish Pub – Stamford, Conn.
by supershag on Nov.11, 2012, under Beer, City, Egg Breakfast, Free Wi-Fi, Futbol on TV, Irish Coffee, Restaurants, Salmon, Stamford, Wine
I was on my way back from judging the ‘Nyemchek Junior All-Star DanceSport Championships‘ in New York and needed to find a spot to watch the Chelsea/Liverpool match on Sunday at 11AM. After much research, a call to AMEX concierge and a bit of investigation I found Tigin Irish Pub in Stamford Connecticut at 175 Bedford Street, what a find as it’s also right near the location of the Tri-state classic DanceSport competition held in March every year. I settled in quickly getting started with an Irish Coffee
The pub is very comfortable but retains an ole Irish Feel.
The food is very good. Typical breakfast fare.
The Irish coffee was brill. One of the best I ever had and there were plenty of tv sets on which to watch the match.

CAFETERIA – Boston, Newbury St.
by supershag on Nov.10, 2012, under Boston, Cocktails, Happening, Massachusetts, Restaurants
I stopped into Cafeteria Restaurant to checkout what all the hubbub was about. There have been quite a few restaurants in this spot over the years, I wanted to see if they had done anything earth shattering with the space. I only stopped in for a drink, which was great, so this review may not be that helpful if you are interested in the big theme change they present of cafeteria!
I sat at the bar space on the first floor because there was a function going on upstairs. The bar was busy (perhaps because it is on the smaller side). The bartender was pleasant and quickly served us our champagne, so no complaints there. If I needed a spot to get a drink before dinner, I would say I might stop in again. Cafeteria didn’t standout in either direction of phenomenal or poor. If you like having a drink in a cozy spot, this might be the bar for you!
Amrheins Boston
by supershag on Oct.21, 2012, under Boston, Egg Breakfast, Gluten Free, Irish Coffee, Parking/Valet, Restaurants, Salmon, Wine
Just had a great Sunday brunch at Amrheins in South Boston
Irish Coffee was great to start with, they also had the Francis Coppola Zinfandel on the menu.
The buffet selection was extensive, with your standard american breakfast options and everything from shrimp to steak. Our plates were filled twice!
Meat lovers will be happy if they stop into Amrheins restaurant as well as the standard breakfast lover too!
Bristol Lounge – Four Seasons Hotel Boston
by supershag on Oct.14, 2012, under Boston, Dairy Free, Free Wi-Fi, Gluten Free, Hotels, Irish Coffee, Restaurants, Swanky, Tartar, Vegetarian, Wine
At the time of our dining Zagat rating for this restaurant was 26 (out of 30) we arrived in between meals and had access to the bar menu which did not disappoint.
We took up two seats at the end of the bar and quickly made friends with the bar tender, who used to be a wine distributer. We started with an Irish Coffee and a nice Pinot Noir (I forget the name, started with an S and was fantastic!)
For our meals we had the Turkey BLT with delicious fresh chips (image above) and the Watermelon Salad with Greek Yogurt Sorbet, Feta, Mint, Olive Oil, accompanied by the Tuna Taco which was Chili Marinated Ahi, Guacamole, Pickled Jicama. I was certainly full by the end of it. Important to note the taco’s are very small. Also I found it charming that they offer many gluten free options as well as gluten free bread to start!
This restaurant is somewhat of an establishment in Boston, great service, excellent food and a fantastically comfortable atmosphere. Stop into Boston Four Seasons Bristol Lounge at any hour and you won’t be disappointed.
Delta Sky Club Atlanta
by supershag on Oct.14, 2012, under Airline Club Room, Atlanta, Beer, Cocktails, Coffee, Free Wi-Fi, Pastries, Wine
Good size club room located at A17.
Well stocked bar with certain complimentary drinks. This does not include Bushmills or Ciroc which only become available after 12pm ( me and puff diddley or whatever he is now called are not very happy with this arrangement )
Does include plenty of charging stations.
Overall no problems but no frills either.
CLINK. at the Liberty Hotel – Boston, MA
by supershag on Oct.13, 2012, under Bellini, Boston, Cocktails, Gluten Free, Happening, Hotels, Mimosa, Novelty, Parking/Valet, Restaurants, Scallops, Steak, Tartar, Wine
We actually started the evening with a few drinks at ‘The Lobby Bar’ in the atrium of the Liberty Hotel. This building was previously “Boston’s Charles Street Jail which had been opened in 1851 as an experiment in prison reformation and closed more than a century later after a judge ruled conditions there were inhumane.” (NPR article)
The building re-opened in September of 2007 after a five-year, $150 million renovation, as the Liberty Hotel. Our night started with a ‘Harvest Margarita’ pictured below and a Besame, both were delicious.
We then moved into CLINK. to commence our dinner.
I was very happy to see they offered gluten free bread to start our dinner (along with normal bread)
We also found an exquisite bottle of wine to take us through the evening, it’s called Darioush (neither of us had it previously and it pleasantly surprised us.)
In regard to food, we started with the Beef Tartar (a little too pureed for our preference) though the ice cream on top was a unique pairing that went well with the overall dish.
When asked between the Tuna Sashimi and the Octopus with Yucca, the waiter said, hands down if you like Octopus this is the best in Boston. While it was good especially when compared with others I’ve had in Boston, I have had better in Argentina.
Our main dishes were another beef dish, and the scallops, both were good, but nothing off the chart. My scallops were especially interesting as they were accompanied by a mix of raw mushrooms and carrots, thankfully I like raw, for those who don’t this may be a little to overpowering to be bearable.
Overall, dinner was nice, the atmosphere entertaining and the wine and cocktails even better. We arrived for a 6pm reservation, the place was packed (Saturday night) by the time we left which was around 9PM. I recommend booking a reservation for CLINK. and heading over early to get a drink at the Lobby Bar and take the architecture and crowd in at your leisure.
